Evander Kane was meant to play a big role for the Edmonton Oilers when he arrived, and while he's been through stretches of elite play, we just haven't seen him impact the game in the way that was expected. Now, with the team right on the cusp of the salary cap, they need to make a big decision on his future, and per a recent report, he has sold his house to teammate Adam Henrique, with fans potentially seeing this as a sign he may be on his way out.
While the report does state that Kane has built a new house in the same area, it has raised enough questions about his future, so much so that General Manager Stan Bowman has promised answers in the next 10 days for fans in his latest interview.
With LTIR, letting him play out the season with little cap flexibility and a trade (despite a 16 team no-trade list) all being possibilities, this update on Kane may impact the Oilers season in a huge way. There's been very little insights into this situation for Oilers fans thus far, but after re-signing Leon Draisaitl, it's clear that they will be contenders for a while, so now we need to know whether Kane will or won't be a part of that, so stay tuned for Bowman's update in the coming week.
