The Edmonton Oilers face fresh concerns over Zach Hyman after the veteran winger left Monday's game against the Detroit Red Wings after hitting the boards.

A new report now claims Hyman has been placed on injured reserve with a stiff neck, citing head coach Mike Babcock.
What is clear is that Hyman's latest setback comes at a difficult time.
He had only recently returned from an upper-body injury that kept him out earlier this month.
Seeing him leave another game so soon raises understandable concerns about his availability and recovery.
Hyman provides much more than scoring for Edmonton.
His determination around the crease, willingness to battle for loose pucks and ability to create traffic on the power play make him an important part of the Oilers' offensive identity.
Without him, coach Babcock may have to shuffle his forward combinations and find another player willing to do the difficult work near the net.
Edmonton has elite attacking talent in Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl, but replacing Hyman's specific role is not as simple as moving names around a lineup card.
The priority, though, should be Hyman's health.
After a hit involving his head and neck area, there is little value in rushing a return before medical staff are satisfied he is ready.
Oilers supporters will be watching for an official update on his status in the coming days and waiting for a clearer recovery timeline.
Until then, uncertainty remains; patience matters more than speculation.
Edmonton needs Hyman at his best, not merely back on the ice.
A careful approach now could prove crucial as the long NHL season unfolds.
