Kris Knoblauch Makes Bold Comments Following Humiliating Oilers/Panthers Game 5
Oilers head coach Kris Knoblauch gave the Panthers some prime bulletin board material after his bold comments following their 5-2 loss in Game 5 Saturday.
The Florida Panthers stuck to their game plan and essentially sucked the life out of the Edmonton Oilers in Game 5 on Saturday with a 5-2 win in the SCF.
They now lead the series 3-2 and return home with a chance to lift the Stanley Cup on home ice for the 2nd straight year over the Oilers.
Oilers fans are now left wondering why the Oilers didn't come forward with a better effort, but coach Kris Knoblauch has since issued a bold statement that not only will make Edmonton fans feel better but could even be used as prime bulletin board material by the Panthers.
Knowing that we're in a difficult situation, win our last two games, is something we're confident that we can do that. We've been through difficult situations before, and here's just another one that we'll overcome.

While Knoblauch vowed that his team would overcome this latest adversity, one thing he wasn't willing to do was name the goaltender for Game 6.
I'm not going to make that decision right now, after a tough loss like tonight. From what I saw, I think Picks didn't have much chance on those goals. Breakaways, shots through screens, slot shots. There's nothing saying that it was a poor performance.
Connor McDavid and Corey Perry scored for the Oilers; it was McDavid's 1st goal of the Cup Final and 1st goal since Game 5 against the Stars in the WCF.
