Darnell Nurse emerged on Frank Seravalli's trade list following a tough playoff run with the Edmonton Oilers.
In Edmonton, fans and media lashed out on the veteran defenseman Darnell Nurse during the Stanley Cup playoffs. After the seventh game of the Stanley Cup Finals against the Florida Panthers, he had a terrible -15 plus/minus.
A new report from Frank Seravalli confirmed that Nurse could have played his last game in the Edmonton Oilers' uniform:
"For a number of weeks now, one member of the Edmonton Oilers has found their way on Daily Faceoff's Trade Targets list: Darnell Nurse.
The most recent one, as compiled by Frank Seravalli, had Nurse listed as No. 29 of 30, where he highlighted some of the long-term and short-term issues with the six years left on his contract."
With six seasons remaining on his awful $9.25M contract, it won't be an easy task for the Oilers' management to pull of a trade. However, if Jeff Jackson, the CEO and interim general manager, wants to help his team at the best of his capacities, he'll find a way to ship him off to another organization before the first game of the season.
