Flyers radio personalities reignited the Connor McDavid to Philadelphia chatter this week, and the fan base is once again letting itself dream.

The latest spark came from 97.5 The Fanatic, where host Bill Colarulo asked co-host Jason Myrtetus point blank whether a McDavid to Philadelphia move could ever make real sense.
Myrtetus didn't hesitate, calling it his dream scenario for the franchise and pointing to a young core that isn't eating up cap space yet.
It's the kind of conversation that only happens because McDavid had another monster year, having racked up 138 points last season on 48 goals and 90 assists across 82 games.
The hosts even took the opportunity to bash Edmonton a little.
"Edmonton is 'Siberia' next to the exposure Philadelphia could offer."

- Jason Myrtetus

Why the fantasy keeps resurfacing

Philadelphia went 43-27-12 last season and finished 11th overall, a legitimately competitive year, but one still missing a true number one center and a power play engine.
With Matvei Michkov, Jett Luchanko and the rest of a cheap, promising young core, the Flyers could theoretically build serious cap flexibility in the near future.
That combination of assets plus ambition is exactly why this conversation keeps finding its way back onto Philadelphia airwaves.

What actually stands between here and there

The reality check is significant.
McDavid is Edmonton's captain and remains the centerpiece of a roster that has reached back to back Stanley Cup Finals.
His contract situation gives him real say in his own future, but nothing suggests he's angling for an exit.
For now, this is bar talk dressed up as hockey analysis, fueled by hope more than substance.
Whether it ever becomes something real depends entirely on decisions McDavid hasn't been forced to make yet.
