Maple Leafs fans erupt after getting their first look at what's coming in 2026-27

Toronto Maple Leafs fans got their first real look at what a night at Scotiabank Arena is going to cost them this season, and the reaction online was immediate.

General sale tickets went live Monday, and within an hour the replies under the team's own announcement were flooded with screenshots and complaints instead of excitement.

According to figures shared by Leafs Latest and passed along by other hockey accounts, the cheapest standard ticket for a home game this season is averaging around $215 CAD.

That number excludes standing room and obstructed view seats, which are usually the two options fans lean on when they just want to get in the door for less.

Even the most basic seat in the building is landing well above what plenty of other NHL markets charge for a comparable view.

Certain nights on the schedule are hitting wallets even harder.

Games against Montreal and Edmonton have seen the cheapest available seats climb into the $350 to $400 range.

Part of that is timing. Toronto opens its season on Sept. 29 against the Canadiens, and with first overall pick Gavin McKenna possibly making his NHL debut that night, demand for that specific date is only going to keep rising as the calendar gets closer.

The response across social media leaned heavily negative, with fans comparing prices across sections, calling out specific matchups and joking about needing to sell personal belongings just to sit in the upper bowl.

It is a familiar cycle for a franchise that consistently ranks among the priciest tickets in the league, but the sticker shock this year feels sharper given how many fans are pricing out entire road trips just to catch a single game in person.
