Connor McDavid responds to the Edmonton Oilers doubters heading into Game 3

The Edmonton Oilers have found themselves down 2-0 in the Stanley Cup Finals against the Florida Panthers and today Oilers captain Connor McDavid finally spoke.

Connor McDavid and the Edmonton Oilers came into the Stanley Cup Finals with many feeling this was their year to take home the Stanley Cup. Two games into the series and they seem to have fallen apart leading to major frustration and worry from fans.

Oilers find themselves on the ropes after Evan Rodrigues the Panthers come out flying

Despite the Edmonton Oilers feeling like the more picked team to win this series they have not lived up to expectations. In Game 1 they played well and had more shots but could not find the back of the net. They would go on to lose after a game-winning goal from Evan Rodrigues.

EVAN RODRIGUES MAKES IT 2-0 PANTHERS

In Game 2 things just did not go well for the Edmonton Oilers. They struggled to get the high volume of shots they had in Game 1 but played much better defensively for parts of the game. However, another big game from Evan Rodrigues would lead to the Oilers' downfall once again.

EVAN RODRIGUES GIVES THE PANTHERS THE LEAD

The Edmonton Oilers have kept the stars of the Florida Panthers like Matthew Tkachuk and Aleksander Barkov off of the goal sheet. The struggles to stop the Panthers' depth like Evan Rodrigues have caused major concern.

Connor McDavid addresses doubters ahead of Game 3

With the Edmonton Oilers feeling a lot of pressure to perform in Game 3 their captain Connor McDavid spoke with the media. During his remarks he made sure to mention that the team hears the haters and can't wait to prove them wrong.

I'm looking forward to people doubting us again, McDavid said after his Oilers' 4-1 loss in Game 2 in Miami. We're good with our backs against the wall.

It's another opportunity for our group to come together and dig our way out, McDavid said. It's supposed to be hard, it's supposed to be difficult. I'm excited to see what our group is made of

The Edmonton Oilers will go into Game 3 needing a desperate mindset understanding their season is on the line. If they come out flat once again and cannot figure out how to get through the Panthers defensive system they could be in major trouble.
