Moritz Seider says the Red Wings win over the Blackhawks carried extra weight after Dylan Larkin walked away from the team.

The Detroit Red Wings needed a good night, and they got one.
Detroit beat the Chicago Blackhawks 4-1 at Little Caesars Arena on Thursday, just hours after the team suspended Dylan Larkin without pay.
Larkin told the organization through his agent that he won't play for Detroit anymore and will sit out until he's traded.
The 30-year-old captained the club for nearly six years and is in the fourth season of an eight-year, $69.6 million contract.
Moritz Seider finished the night with an assist and 18:49 of ice time.
Afterward, he admitted the win meant a little more than usual, and he pointed to the group in the room as proof this is their squad.
"It meant a little more. I think it came down to that this is our squad and we got a really good group in here."

Seider wants to turn the page

Seider also said he had no idea Larkin was ready to leave.
He wants his friend to be happy, even if that happiness is somewhere else, and he hopes Detroit lands a strong return.
He's also sick and tired of answering the same questions over and over.
The Red Wings are now 5-1-3 in their last nine games, so this locker room has been winning through plenty of noise.

What comes next for Detroit

Don't expect a rushed deal. The Red Wings are reportedly prepared to wait as long as necessary, since they can't just give away their top center because he wants out.
Larkin is a six-time 30-goal scorer, so the asking price should be steep.
Head coach Todd McLellan has said the team is moving on.
Seider agreed, saying whoever comes back will be a player who is happy to be in Detroit.
For a team trying to keep its season steady, that message matters.
