Dylan Larkin won't play while he waits for a trade, and agent Pat Brisson says the Red Wings forward is fed up and has been professional through the whole process.
Dylan Larkin is done waiting. The Detroit Red Wings forward will sit out for the foreseeable future while he hopes a trade finally comes together, and his camp is making his stance clear.
Larkin will not play Thursday against the Chicago Blackhawks, and coach Todd McLellan said interim general manager Shawn Horcoff would address the situation.
Pierre LeBrun reported that Larkin's side believes he gave Detroit plenty of time since his trade request over the summer.
What Pat Brisson said
Larkin's agent, Pat Brisson, shared a statement through LeBrun.
He said his client has simply had enough of the situation and feels Larkin has been very professional and cooperative throughout the process.

That matters, because this isn't a player trashing the organization on his way out the door.
It's a player saying the clock has run out.
He has two goals and six points in 10 games, and he scored in a shootout win over the Edmonton Oilers on Monday.
Where a trade could land
Larkin first handed Detroit a list of three teams, but it has since grown to 10.
Those clubs are the Florida Panthers, Minnesota Wild, Vegas Golden Knights, Dallas Stars, Washington Capitals, Carolina Hurricanes, Utah Mammoth, Tampa Bay Lightning, New Jersey Devils and Colorado Avalanche.
LeBrun says Minnesota has been pushing hard, while Washington doesn't look like a fit and Florida appears to be out of the picture.
Talks have escalated, though LeBrun cautioned that doesn't mean a deal is close.
Detroit isn't in a rush to accept a bad offer, either.
Larkin is in the fourth season of an eight-year, $69.6 million contract that carries a cap hit of $8.7 million, and Darren Dreger reports the Red Wings want real NHL help back instead of a futures-heavy return.
