The Avalanche recently acquired Charlie Coyle, and now NHL insider Frank Seravalli believes he could be heading out of town just as quickly.

Charlie Coyle didn't waste any time making an impact after the Boston Bruins acquired him in February 2019 and took them to the Stanley Cup Final.
The Weymouth, Mass., native got his squad one victory away from winning hockey's holy grail, losing Game 7 to the St. Louis Blues. Years down the line, Coyle got his second opportunity to be great, a second chance with the Colorado Avalanche.

Coyle was slotted in as the team's third-line center

Slotted in a third-line position behind Brock Nelson and Nathan MacKinnon, he brought depth, experience, and athleticism to an already deep roster.
"He's a gamer," said an NHL scout. "He's a legit third-line center. He adds size down the middle and can defend against bigger forwards. A two-way player who can help in the PK and play in all situations."

Standing at 6-foot-3, 215 pounds, Coyle's strength and puck-pounding ability manifested, and his work ethic allowed him to be a valuable asset in Colorado's quest for playoff championships.
Things didn't quite follow the script, however. Although initially viewed as a natural fit both on and off the ice, the Avalanche's postseason was brief. Now there is doubt about whether Coyle has a future in Denver.
NHL insider Frank Seravalli recently openly wondered if Coyle's style really is a Colorado system fit.
"There are questions about the fit of Charlie Coyle in Colorado."

While Coyle brought size and grit, Seravalli wondered at the Colorado Avalanche's speedy, high-tempo system fit being perhaps not as natural as originally anticipated.
As Colorado continues on, it remains to be seen if Coyle is still in the running or looks to continue his career somewhere else.
