Shocking update on the Jesperi Kotkaniemi buyout situation

Today Elliotte Friedman went around the NHL and covered a wide range of topics including the potential buyout of Jesperi Kotkaniemi by the Carolina Hurricanes this summer.

It is no secret that Jesperi Kotkaniemi has struggled to live up to the contract he was given by the Carolina Hurricanes. With the Hurricanes up against the salary cap for next season, many expected Jesperi Kotkaniemi to be a buyout candidate. However, Elliotte Friedman believes that the Hurricanes are not interested in a buyout.

EF gets the sense Necas will be moved. Both don't see eye to eye anymore. EF has heard from a source that #CauseChaos won't buy out Kotkaniemi, the team thinks they have a real player there
