Evgeny Kuznetsov's leaked rumors about his departure addressed
Reports came out yesterday that Evgeny Kuznetsov was leaving the Carolina Hurricanes and the NHL to head to Russia. Now, those rumors have been addressed.
Kuznetsov was given a new start in Carolina after he was traded from the Washington Capitals, which is why many were shocked to hear he was planning to leave the NHL altogether for Russia.
Per championat.com Evgeni Kuznetsov is set to sign a 4-year contract with SKA as soon as he terminates his agreement with the Hurricanes #CauseChaos #Canes
Fans and experts around the league then expected the Hurricanes would place Kuznetsov on unconditional waivers so that they could terminate his contract penalty-free. Once the waiver deadline passed, it appeared he wasn't placed on it, which then led many to believe he wasn't actually leaving the NHL. Kuznetsov appears to have addressed the latest rumor.
Everything is possible in our life but it's too early to talk about Evgeny Kuznetsov return to Russia @Canes
This situation is still far from over so it will be interesting to see what the Canes do over the next few weeks regarding this, and whether they will attempt to replace him with other player signings.
