Rasmus Andersson appears on his way out of Calgary, and amidst the ongoing chatter around him, he's directly addressed the trade speculation.
The Calgary Flames came into the 2025/26 season hoping to make a push at the Stanley Cup Playoffs, but given how things are gone, it appears the front office's hand will be forced into rebuilding this team.
That will likely include trading Rasmus Andersson, who has caught fire as of late, posting a total of 6 goals and 20 points through 29 games this season for the struggling Flames.

That speculation around Andersson has continued on this season after following him for the better part of the last 18 months, with reports recently stating that he is continuing to change his mind on what he wants to do with his future.
Now, in an interview with the Calgary Herald, Andersson fights back on those comments, stating that those outside the organization have no idea what they're talking about.

As of right now, all signs point to the Flames flipping Andersson at some point, and given his comments on the media and fans over the past few months, it may be a welcome move from both sides.
Ultimately though, this is another case of a player pushing back on media reports, and while he could just be saving face, it appears as though he's genuinely frustrated with the reports.
