'No one here is safe': Jarmo Kekalainen's ultimatum to the Sabres revealed
The Sabres have recently gone on a 10-game win streak, and now, the ultimatum to the organization from new GM Jarmo Kekalainen has officially been revealed.
The Buffalo Sabres have been building something solid for years now, but with the team taking no obvious signs of steps forward in recent times, they decided to make a change, moving on from GM Kevyn Adams and instilling Jarmo Kekalainen in the role instead.
Since that point, the team have been on a roll, and while their 10-game winning streak recently came to an end, they're now sitting at 21-15-4 as they're well in the hunt not only in the Wild Card race, but the Atlantic Division race as well.
Jarmo Kekalainen's massive ultimatum to the team revealed
It's unclear whether or not Kekalainen had much to do with the team's recent turnaround, but now, it's been revealed just what he said to the organization when he took over, taking a hard stance on the present and the future of the team with his comments.
You're pretty much all expendable, there is no one here that is safe. - Jarmo Kekalainen
That's a brutal way for a new GM to start his tenure with a team, but clearly something worked, as everyone from the Head Coach down has begun pulling their weight as of late, with the team finally going from potential to substantial production.
A good run is a great story for a team that's in the midst of a historic playoff drought, so now we will have to wait and see whether or not that translates into a full season of success, but with Kekalainen at the helm, there is clearly renewed optimism in Buffalo.
