Former Buffalo Sabres coach Adam Mair, who is now their director of player development, was arrested after an alleged incident behind the wheel and has been placed on administrative leave.

Former Buffalo Sabres forward and current director of player development Adam Mair has been placed on administrative leave.
He was arrested after an alleged incident behind the wheel with his children present, and the Sabres have released a statement acknowledging the situation through Nicole Hendricks, vice president of communications.
We are aware of the situation involving Adam Mair. He has been placed on administrative leave. We will have no further comment at this time.

Per reports, Mair is scheduled to appear in Pittsford Town Court on October 2.
Before taking the job as director of player development in 2021-22, Mair was the assistant coach for the AHL affiliate Rochester Americans in 2020-21 and then a development coach for the Sabres from 2015-20.
He's been with the organization for years, starting in 2002 when he was traded from the Kings to the Sabres for Erik Rasmussen.

Adam Mair played 7 years in the NHL for the Sabres

Mair was taken with the 87th overall pick by the Toronto Maple Leafs in the 1997 NHL Entry Draft, and also played for the Sabres, Los Angeles Kings and New Jersey Devils.
He had 114 points (38G, 76A) in 615 NHL games.
Mair was part of the 2006-07 Sabres team that won the President's Trophy and advanced to the ECF, the 2nd year in a row the Sabres were the top team in the regular season.
