This off-season has been a wild one in the NHL, with incredible player movement shaking up the landscape of the league, and with training camp approaching, there are just a few names remaining in free agency. One of those was former first-round pick Filip Zadina, who had a solid 2023/24 campaign with the San Jose Sharks, scoring 13 goals and 23 points in 72 games played, giving him solid production before free agency.
Unfortunately, he wasn't able to turn that into a significant deal, as Zadina has now officially inked a PTO with the Buffalo Sabres, a team that he could be a perfect fit with.
Standing at 6-foot-0, the 24-year old still has all of the tools to be a significant success in the NHL, and now with the chance to help this rising team make a playoff push, he has the opportunity to earn a bigger deal down the line. After 262 games in the NHL thus far, he also has the experience under his belt to become a good player in the league, but after passing 20 points just twice since 2018/19, the jury is still out on his potential.
