Lysell was drafted in the first round, 21st overall by the Bruins in 2021. Since then he's had a unique development path, joining the Vancouver Giants of the WHL for his draft+1 season before making the jump to the AHL last season. He has 15 goals and 50 points for the Providence Bruins in 56 games played this year. It has been an unusual year for the
Bruins, who have dealt with significant off-ice distractions as well as a tight playoff race for the top spot in the Atlantic Division. Hopefully, Lysell's injury does not hurt their playoff run, although he likely wasn't going to play a major role anyways.
