Brad Marchand has been the heart and soul of the Bruins for a long, long time, and after his trade to a division rival, the team have released a beautiful tribute.
With the Bruins not set to host the Panthers for the remainder of the year, the Bruins decided to release a heartfelt video tribute to Marchand on YouTube, cementing what an incredible player he was for a long time in Boston.
Marchand was originally a third-round pick of the Bruins back in 2006, making his debut for the team in 2009, and for the next 15 years, he played a key role in their lineup each and every year, including being a solid contributor to their 2011 Stanley Cup run.
In that time, Marchand played in 1,090 regular season games, posting 422 goals and 976 points, making him one of the most prolific players to ever don the iconic B that defines the city of Boston and this original six franchise.
While there was plenty of criticism for the return that Marchand got the Bruins, it was simply time to move on as the team had already moved
Trent Frederic,
Charlie Coyle and
Brandon Carlo, and with these assets, it appears they're moving towards a rebuild.
