TRADE RUMOUR: According to NHL insider a trade is in the works between Minnesota Wild and Ottawa Senators
The Ottawa Senators have done a great job getting some quality prospects these past few years since committing to the rebuild, but while many fans thought this might finally be the year they compete for a playoff spot, they are sadly back sitting in the bottom 5 of the league.
Hearing the Sens are interested in Fiala from Minnesota. That would certainly be a great fit in the top 6. He turns 26 in July and is on a one year deal at 5.1, and is an RFA this summer. Fiala is in the final year of a deal that pays him $5,100,000 but will remain an RFA. Thanks to the buyout of Zach Parise & Ryan Suter, the Minnesota Wild simply do not have the cap space to resign this 25 year old to the money he deserves, which could help the Ottawa Senators get this great player at a discounted cost!
