Crazy Scene in Seattle as Referee is Obliterated With Hit From Behind
Last night Kraken forward Eeli Tolvanen hit a referee from behind absolutely laying him out.
Tolvanen Lays Referee Out
Last night's game between the Kraken and the Kings was just like any other rivalry game. It went down to the wire with the Kings eventually winning in the 9th round of the shootout. Before the game got to that point, we saw one of the most rare plays in all of hockey with a player hitting a referee.
Here is the clip that has gone viral:
The player in question, Eeli Tolvanen, appears to have done it by accident and immediately made sure the referee was doing fine. He was not assessed any penalty for this play.
The Game Dies On Tolvanen's Stick
While Tolvanen got to play without getting penalized, the Kraken's hope of winning the game ended after he was shut down as the ninth shooter in the shootout.
The Kraken moved to 10-14-8 on the season which is good for 5th in the Pacific division while the Kings climbed to 17-6-4 which places them at third in the Pacific.
