Winnipeg Jets trade for a right-shot defenseman with a booming shot
The Winnipeg Jets have made a trade with the Carolina Hurricanes that will see them acquire defenseman Dylan Coghlan.
Insider Elliotte Friedman just announced that the Winnipeg Jets are trading for Dylan Coghlan.
Believe Winnipeg will be acquiring D Dylan Coghlan from Carolina, too
RFA with a big shot
Coghlan headed to Winnipeg. Could never really break through to be a relied-upon No. 7 in Carolina.
Coghlan has primarily been an AHL defenseman over the past two years but has proven to have an NHL upside. He scored 41 points in 61 AHL games last season earning AHL all-star nods.
He will look to earn a full-time NHL role with the Jets next year. We still await the return and full details of the trade.
UPDATE: The return was a conditional 7th round draft pick.
Not that
@FriedgeHNIC
needs my confirmation, but I can confirm Carolina is trading RFA RHD Dylan Coghlan to Winnipeg.
Hearing the return is a conditional 7th round draft pick going back to Carolina
