The Dylan Larkin trade saga in Detroit just picked up another layer, and this time the Tampa Bay Lightning and Minnesota Wild are reportedly in the conversation.

Marco D'Amico says the Red Wings are pushing hard behind the scenes to find a landing spot for their captain. Here is what D'Amico said:
I've heard that they're trying very hard to get a Larkin deal done. I don't know if his list has expanded or not, but I heard that they're trying. I heard that Tampa was involved. I heard Minnesota was involved. There's more that are poking around in there that maybe aren't on his list. I know the Philadelphia Flyers would jump at the opportunity to add Larkin

Why Larkin Fits Tampa and Minnesota

Both clubs make sense on paper. Tampa Bay is a perennial contender that could use a proven center with leadership credentials, while Minnesota has been connected to Larkin for weeks as it tries to bolster its forward group.
D'Amico was careful to note that he is unsure whether Larkin's approved destinations have grown.
That detail matters, because the veteran center holds trade protection and controls where he can go. Any team without a spot on his list would need his approval first.
The Philadelphia Flyers were also named as a team that would jump at the chance, and D'Amico indicated more clubs are poking around beyond the ones he mentioned.

What Comes Next for Detroit

The Red Wings have spent weeks navigating a difficult situation. Larkin was booed at the home opener, and the club has reportedly insisted on a return that helps now rather than a pile of futures. That stance narrows the field, since contenders reluctant to part with core pieces are not eager to meet it.
Still, multiple teams showing interest gives Detroit leverage. If Tampa Bay, Minnesota and Philadelphia all see Larkin as a difference maker, the Red Wings can push for a package built around NHL-ready talent.
Whether a deal materializes soon remains to be seen, but the chatter suggests Detroit is working the phones.
