Wayne Gretzky's family celebrates the great one as he turns 64
Wayne Gretzky's family is celebrating as the great one turns 64 years old today.
Wayne Gretzky is without a doubt the most famous hockey player of all time.
He is just about the only hockey player that any American could name regardless if they are a fan of the sport or not.
His career numbers are videogame-like with 894 goals and 2857 points, nearly 1000 more points than anyone else has ever scored.
Today, the great one continues his legacy as a contributor to the NHL on TNT, but he isn't covering any games today.
That would be because he is celebrating his 64th birthday.
His wife Janet shared a post to Instagram celebrating her husband, including numerous pictures of his career as well as some of the two of them together.
"Happy Birthday to the Greatest One in every way !!! You continue to be a very Special One to all of us. We all Love you !!!"
Janet was joined by the couple's son Trevor, who also made a post celebrating his dad's birthday, sharing a picture of him with his dad at a St. Louis Blues legends reunion game.
"Happy birthday Dad ♥️Love you"
Of course, the great one is being celebrated around the hockey world today as countless fans pay homage to the greatest player of all time.
There was once a time when no one believed that any of Gretzky's records would ever be broken, but Alex Ovechkin is determined to change that this season.
That being said, Ovi may very well set a new goal record this season, but even he is still well over 1000 points behind with no chance to break the points record.
