Shocking Study Shows The True Cost To Attend A Hockey Game In Toronto
NHL games are consistently getting more expensive to attend each year. No one fan base knows this better than the Toronto Maple Leafs.
Toronto ticket prices can often be seen floating around on Twitter and other various social media with fans commenting on the insane height that they reach.
The US Betting Report recently conducted a study that looked at the expense to attend an NHL game.
The price was calculated with the following criteria the total cost of taking a family of four to a game, configuring ticket prices, two small beers, four small soft drinks, four hot dogs, parking for one hour, two game programs, and two cheap adult-size hats.
The Toronto Maple Leafs continue to be the most expensive seat in the NHL. They topped the list of the most expensive family experiences with a total price of $697.75.
The rest of the top five included Seattle ($672.89), Vegas ($649.72), New York Rangers ($645.42), and the Chicago Blackhawks ($573.76).
The Toronto Maple Leafs still hold the most expensive experience but their increase in price from 2012 to now is quite low compared to other teams.
Teams who have increased the most include the Tampa Bay Lightning at a 70% increase and the Nashville Predators who increased by 57%.
The NHL has become expensive to watch just as it is to play. At some point, the NHL is going to restrict the market of who can attend a game to a point where it will negatively affect attendance.
