Monday afternoon a bombshell dropped in the National Hockey League regarding the Arizona Coyotes and their future in the state. It was announced that all signs point to Salt Lake City, Utah taking over the once called Arizona Coyotes.

BREAKING: Sources tell
@DailyFaceoff
- NHL, Arizona Coyotes & Smith Entertain. Grp have made significant progress on the framework of an agreement to relocate #Yotes to Salt Lake City, Utah.

#NHL memo updated Governors today.

NOT done. Many layers and lawyers. Much work to do.

Sources say #Yotes players have been informed that something of a "verbal" agreement is in place to relocate to Salt Lake City, but we've received pushback on that characterization of talks.

Nonetheless, this is well down the track. Let's see what happens next.
With that news dropping, a Colorado insider has speculated that The Salt Lake City team and the Colorado Avalanche may move to the Pacific division, while teams like the Edmonton Oilers and Calgary Flames swap to the Central division.
"Hearing that IF Coyotes move to Salt Lake, that Avs MIGHT make a move to Pacific Division with new SLC team and Oilers and Flames might move to Central. A rumor, at this point" Dater said.
