After a scary situation during the Lightning-Penguins matchup, the NHL have given a major update on Steve Kozari's health.
Just hours after being stretchered off the ice following a collision with Haydn Fleury of the Tampa Bay Lightning, the NHL has now given a statement on the health of official Steve Kozari, who was transported to hospital immediately.
Referee Steve Kozari was transported to UPMC Mercy Hospital for precautionary reasons after a collision with Tampa Bay Lightning defenseman Haydn Fleury in the third period of the Penguins-Lightning game this afternoon. Kozari is conscious and alert, has the use of all his extremities and is expected to make a full recovery.
Although incidental, the collision was brutal for the official, but to have such a quick and positive update is a major sigh of relief, and while there's no timeline for his return to the ice, he couldn't be blamed for taking quite some time off after this collision.
