Brady Tkachuk and the Ottawa Senators now have a likely playoff map, and that leak changes the mood around this Carolina Hurricanes series.

The matchup is locked. Carolina won the Metropolitan Division, Ottawa grabbed the second wild card, and the playoffs open April 18.
That is why Bruce Garrioch's post landed hard on Wednesday. This was not fluff, it was the first real hint of the TV board being set.
If the leak holds, Games 1 and 2 go Saturday and Monday in Raleigh. Games 3 and 4 would shift to Canadian Tire Centre on Thursday and Saturday.
That gap matters more than fans think. It gives Travis Green extra practice time to drill exits, clean up matchups, and keep Linus Ullmark fresh after Ottawa's 5-1-1 push into the bracket.

This feels like the kind of leak that makes fans pace the room, because it turns abstract playoff talk into a real clock.
Carolina is not just a hard draw, it is a pace draw. The Hurricanes finished first in the East, reached 113 points, but suffered a 6-3 loss to Ottawa on April 5.
So the schedule is part of the chess match. Two road games first means Ottawa must survive Carolina's push early, then bring the series home with the building ready to explode.
That is where this gets interesting. Ottawa sits at 43-27-11, and Ullmark's shutout on Long Island showed this team can still drag a game onto its own script.
A leak is never the series. Still, this one tells you the first-round machine is already moving, and Ottawa's window to punch back is starting to open.
