This evening, a new report has confirmed that the Montreal Canadiens are shopping around to try and find a trade partner in a deal centered around Kirby Dach.
The Montreal Canadiens are coming off of a very successful season in which they reached the Eastern Conference Finals but lost to eventual Stanley Cup Champions the Carolina Hurricanes.
Since the loss, GM Kent Hughes has been working on a plan to try and improve the fringes of the roster to get the Canadiens over that final couple of hurdles.
Tonight, NHL insider David Pagnotta has suggested the Canadiens are considering trading Kirby Dach to achieve their goals.

According to Pagnotta, the Canadiens are hoping to be active this summer and have recently been taking calls on former 3rd overall pick Kirby Dach.
David Pagnotta: Re Canadiens: Kirby Dach's name has been circulating
Dach, 25, was considered a top prospect when selected by the Chicago Blackhawks in 2019 but has struggled to find offensive success in the NHL.
In recent years, he has been solid in depth role for the Canadiens but has struggled to stay healthy making him not worth his cap hit of nearly 4 million he had on his previous contract.
It remains unclear what the market is for Dach as he is a restricted free agent but with his size and skating combination there is likely to be at least a few teams willing to take a chance on him.
As more news is provided on Dach's future in Montreal and beyond we will know pass those details along to you.
