'I'm Half Of Who I Was': Johnny Gaudreau's Widow Makes Emotional Comments on His 32nd Birthday

Meredith Gaudreau has been an inspiration to many since the passing of her husband Johnny, and on his 32nd birthday, she's put out an incredibly emotional statement.
A year ago, the NHL was shocked by the sudden and tragic passing of both Matthew and Johnny Gaudreau, the latter of whom was a superstar in the league with the Columbus Blue Jackets and Calgary Flames.
It's been an incredibly hard time for many around the league, but mostly for the close friends and family of the beautiful brothers, who were clearly beloved figures by their friends, family, teammates and many fans around the hockey community.

12 months on, the widow of Johnny, Meredith, who has been an absolute inspiration to so many in the wake of his high-profile passing has now discussed it on his 32nd birthday
in a recent interview.
Half of me, the best part of me, died that day, too. I'm trying to be double now for my kids, even though I'm half of who I was."
Still incredibly emotional, Meredith makes it clear just how much Johnny did and will always mean to her, revealing the emotional toll that it's taken on her and her family, including their young children that are now understanding the situation.
"My daughter (Noa) is catching on. She's 2 and she asks for him a lot. She says, 'Daddy's in heaven' and I'm starting to explain to her what heaven is really because she wants to go to heaven and she says, 'I want him to come back' or 'let's call him.'"
A year on, this is still so hard to deal with for so many friends, family and those that idolized the superstar winger, but through it all, Meredith has been a rock, impressing so many with her poise, class and strength through this tough moments, with so many in the hockey community thinking about her on this tough day.
