Budding European Player Gary Kelly Tragically Passes Away at the Age of 19

A budding European player by the name of Gary Kelly tragically passed away at the age of 19 after it was reported he fell off a balcony in Ibiza, Spain.
A 19-year-old Scottish boy who died following a fall from the third floor of Ibiza Rocks Hotel has been identified as Dundee ice hockey player Gary Kelly.
"We regret to inform you of the passing of Gary Kelly at the age of 19, after he fell off of his balcony in Ibiza.
Kelly played this past season with the Aberdeen Lynx and Dundee Rockets (SNL) where he had 10 goals, 17 points in 11 games played. He also played with the Dundee Stars (EIHL) in Great Britain's top professional hockey league, suiting up for two games.
Kelly played for Scotland at the junior level, suiting up for their national teams from U11-U19.

Kelly died early on Monday morning, the second fatal fall from the same hotel in two weeks. Evan Thompson, aged 26 and from Aberdeen, also died on July 7 while celebrating his birthday at the hotel with friends.
Emergency crews responded quickly, dispatching two ambulances to the scene, but paramedics were unable to resuscitate Kelly. The Civil Guard confirmed that he was Scottish and has opened an investigation into the incident.
Gary Kelly represented the Dundee Stars and Aberdeen Lynx in ice hockey last year, and they issued a statement.
A statement from Dundee Stars said: "We are truly devastated to learn that Gary Kelly has tragically passed away. We send our thoughts and condolences to Gary's family, partner, and all his friends at this extremely difficult time.
"Everyone at the club including players, staff, management, and ownership are heartbroken to hear this tragic news. Gary was a hugely talented and charismatic individual who had a great future ahead of him."
