Tonight, the Boston Bruins have surprisingly placed young forward Lukas Reichel on waivers after being eliminated from the playoffs.
The Boston Bruins season officially ended at the hands of the Buffalo Sabres after a 4-1 loss in Game 6.
While most of today’s focus was on the impending suspension coming to defenseman Charlie McAvoy the Bruins have now made a surprising roster move involving Lukas Reichel.

According to a report from multiple sources the Bruins have placed Lukas Reichel on waivers in hopes of sending him to the AHL.
The Bruins are hoping that Reichel will clear waivers and can be assigned to the AHL for the Providence Bruins playoff run.
Reichel, 23, spent time on three teams this season starting with the Chicago Blackhawks before being sent to the Vancouver Canucks in a trade then finally being waived and picked up by the Bruins.
In 10 regular season games with the Bruins, Reichel had 3 points and then got one playoff appearance.
During his one playoff appearance Reichel was mostly ineffective but provided a nice boost in speed to the lineup.
Now, over the next 24 hours, every team in the NHL will have an opportunity to claim Reichel and bring him into their organization for next season.
If he goes unclaimed he would then be sent to Providence for the Calder Cup Playoffs and be a key player in the AHL.
As more information is provided on Reichel’s future with the Bruins and beyond we will pass along all of the latest news.
