WATCH: HUGE Calgary crowd has a message for Johnny Gaudreau - NOT a good one
After dominating the regular season last year, the Calgary Flames were forced to make some significant changes this offseason and some of them fans didn't expect nor like.
The Flames managed to lose not one but two of their best players in a matter of just over a week. It's not very often you see a team lose two 100+ point scorers in the same offseason.
After Johnny Gaudreau decided to leave the team in free agency, Matthew Tkachuk requested a trade as well.
Lucky for Flames fans though, General Manager Brad Treliving made a great trade and brought in a player who actually outproduced Tkachuk in Jonathan Huberdeau, and also got a top 4 defenceman to add to the ranks as well.
But back to Gaudreau, the Flames did everything they could to re-sign Gaudreau, but he was set on moving home closer to his family in the United States.
Gaudreau went onto sign a 7-year deal worth $68,250,000 with the Columbus Blue Jackets.
After Gaudreau left, there has definitely been some resentment in Calgary towards him, and during a concert by Loud Luxury, the singer asked the Calgary crowd a question:
Hey Calgary what do you want to say to Johnny Hockey right now?
Then all you hear is booooooooooo.
