This summer, the free agent saga of Patrick Kane dragged out before he eventually landed in Detroit, but now his time with the Red Wings may already be coming to an end.

Will Kane be moved at the trade deadline?

After signing a one-year deal in Detroit, rumours began to spread that if this team wasn't a playoff squad by the trade deadline, they would move Kane to a contender, confirmed by NHL Insider Pierre Lebrun.
"Let's see what Patrick Kane wants.' It's possible that he gets flipped and therefore the Red Wings get an asset for Patrick who is a UFA (on) July 1."

While there's plenty of teams out there that could use Kane, who has tallied a solid 6 goals and 14 points in 16 games thus far this season, and now, one Western Conference contender is ready to come calling.

Winnipeg to land a three-time Cup Champion?

According to recent reports, the Winnipeg Jets, who sit in first place in the Central Division and the overall NHL standings could target him, as he would provide flexibility and experience in their top-six that could help them take the next step.
As the NHL trade deadline looms on March 8, 2024, the hockey world is abuzz with a tantalizing rumor: the Detroit Red Wings and the Winnipeg Jets are reportedly discussing a significant trade.

Central to this speculation is the Red Wings' star player, Patrick Kane, whose potential move to Winnipeg is stirring up a frenzy among fans and NHL analysts alike. -Rob Ellis NHLtraderumor

With an elite goaltender and a great blue line group that hasn't allowed more than 3 goals a game for 29 straight games, the Jets are set up to win now, and if they can land Kane and get Kyle Connor healthy, there's few teams in the West that could stop them.
