With the NHL trade deadline coming Monday we have seen some teams making big moves already as they are trying to build a contender. But one of the biggest deals that could happen is from the New York Rangers.
During The Fourth Period Podcast with David Pagnotta he revealed the Rangers are willing to trade 2020 first over all pick forward Alexis Lafreniere saying this,
Well, there are some interesting things coming out of the Big Apple here, and I'm sure it's going to thrill Rangers' fans. One player they are dangling right now I'm being told is, and I'm going to preface this by saying, it is going to take a significant deal for this to happen...but my understanding is they have made Alexis Lafreniere available. IF they bring in a top flight talent, in return who is controllable who has term on his contract. So they aren't just going to move him for the sake of it."
The Rangers currently sit 3rd in the Metropolitan division with 21 games remaining. Rangers GM, Chris Drury wants to bring a cup back to the Big Apple making this trade could possibly help the Rangers do that.
Alexis Lafreniere has played in 115 NHL games with the Rangers and has 25 goals and 15 assists. Lafreniere, who is 20-years old and has his best days ahead.
