TRADE TALK: Pierre Lebrun reveals the asking price for Marc-Andre Fleury
There has been lots of speculation about Marc-Andre Fleury and whether he will be traded at the deadline this season or not. Fleury is on an expiring contract and has expressed he would like to remain in Chicago, but with only having a 10 team no talk list, as long as one of the other 22 teams not on Fleury's list comes calling, Fleury will not have a choice but to go where he is traded.
Pierre Lebrun has revealed what he thinks it will take to get Fleury away from the Chicago Blackhawks.
What I think an asking price would look like from Chicago in a Fleury trade: 1st RD pick (or 1st RD level prospect) and maybe a mid-round pick. The second pick likely depends on whether the Hawks need to take back a contract and how bad that contract is.
But key is: 1st RD pick.— Pierre LeBrun (@PierreVLeBrun) March 14, 2022
Considering the value Fleury brings not only talent wise, but with leadership and experience, this is not a bad ask at all for a contending team. Considering we saw Blake Coleman and Barkley Goodrow both get 1st round picks in return for them as deadline deals, this is a very fair ask for last years Vezina winning goalie.
