Families across Canada have been tormented by rampant wildfires. However, the province of Quebec has borne the brunt of this calamity more severely than any other region.
Samuel Girard, a local resident of Quebec, has generously opened his home to those families devastated by the fires.
Compassionate Response
Girard's actions have showcased him not only as an exceptional hockey player but also a compassionate community member. In particular, his own home in Roberval, situated in the Saguenay region of Quebec, approximately 7 hours north of Montreal, has turned into a refuge for the wildfire-affected families.
This entire community has embraced the spirit of unity and support, welcoming affected families with open arms.
Sam Girard responded to the plight of thousands of families forced to evacuate due to relentless forest fires in Quebec. He has opened the doors of his home in Roberval to the victims. Currently, two families, including a 14-month-old baby, are taking shelter in his bedroom, and he is prepared to accommodate more. With local community centres already at capacity, these families would have been without a refuge if it weren't for people like Girard. H/T CTVMontreal, @avsinsider
