The Calgary Flames and Edmonton Oilers continued their battle of Alberta Sunday night and wow it was a battle. The Oilers would jump up to a 4-0 lead led by Evander Kane with a natural hat trick.
The game would take a interesting turn when Mike Smith went out to play the puck and Milan Lucic would end up nailing Smith into the boards causing a major scrum. Lucic was given a 5 minute major for charging and game misconduct.
After the game Flames head coach Daryl Sutter would comment on the call saying:
I would say, they called it charging correct?" "Could you imagine Lucic did charge? What would of happened there, he actually tried to slow it down a little bit I think. It is what it is you know it was the score and who it was oh well."
