Radko Gudas is a player who is a big hitter, he often skates the line of dirty and clean plays. He has cleaned up his image/play somewhat since playing on the Florida Panthers. Gudas plays hard and in considered a warrior.
Sunday night's game involving Detroit and Anaheim
The first period between the two squads was a rough affair. Mason McTavish delivered a big crosscheck to Dylan Larkin, that only resulted in a two minute penalty. The even more controversial play of the night involved Gudas and Lucas Raymond.
It is unknown if Gudas will be suspended or not as NHL Player Safety appears to rarely keep players safe with suspensions any more, to put it lightly.
Gudas' career and suspension history
After three years with the Florida Panthers, including the miracle run to the playoffs last year, Gudas signed with the Anaheim Ducks as a free agent. He signed a three-year, $12-million deal, to be a leader on the back-end, and protect the Ducks' young stars.
Gudas has been suspended four times, including: two games for high-sticking Tampa's Nikita Kucherov (February 2019); 10 games for slashing the neck of Winnipeg's Mathieu Perreault (November 2017); six games for a hit to Austin Czarnik (September 2016); and three games for a headshot to Mika Zibanejad (December 2015). Could this slew foot be his fifth career suspension?
