According to insider Eklund, Salt Lake City is basically a lock for Coyotes relocation

Arizona Coyotes Could Be On The Move

Since Shane Doan's departure, the Coyotes have been a hot mess. Be it on the ice or in the media, they have been a hot button topic for a while.
This past season they played at the Arizona State University hockey team's arena, but the seating restricts the amount of fans able to attend games.

Salt Lake City To Join The NHL Fold Next

NHL insider Eklund believes that there is a very strong possibility that the Coyotes move to Salt Lake City. With rumours circulating, it is highly likely that Arizona ends up moving to Utah.
With a strong fanbase in the NBA for the Utah Jazz, there is no debate whether or not the city would accept another pro franchise with open arms. The fans love their basketball team, and hockey just has the ability to bring everyone together in one place.
Bill Armstrong has put on his hardhat, and put together a nice prospect pool to complement Clayton Keller and Matthias Maccelli. And with a new city to call home, Dylan Guenther and Logan Cooley could add excitement on the ice right away.
The Coyotes have added some great pieces, and are young and hungry. So a fresh start with a new arena in place in a new city could very well bring the franchise along to a great position.
Expansion has been no stranger to the league with Vegas and Seattle pushing the franchise number to 32. And if the relocation doesn't pan out, Bettman still has the option of expanding to 33 teams with Salt Lake City in his back pocket.
