The Minnesota Wild have been an exciting team to watch lately, they are 24-14-4 on the season and currently hold third place in the Central Division.
Today they announced the signing of youngster Matt Boldy, to a massive 7 year deal with an AAV of $7 million per season.
Minnesota Wild General Manager Bill Guerin today announced the National Hockey League (NHL) club has signed forward Matt Boldy to a seven-year, $49 million contract ($7 million average annual value) that goes through the 2029-30 season.
Boldy was drafted 12th overall back in 2019, in the draft where players from the US Development team dominated the first round. So far in his young career he has played in 89 games scoring 27 goals 41 assists for 68 points.
He has already shown he can be a dominant player in this league and Bill Guerin and the Wild agree.
Some fans though were not happy with the signing and made their opinions known on social media.
