Last year it was discussed that it was the ''last dance'' for the Pittsburgh Penguins. The team was getting old, they were most likely losing Malkin or Letang or both in the offseason, and they would never be competitive again.

Well, so far into this season, the Penguins are 3-0-1, undefeated in regulation, and they came back with all their franchise players. The Penguins are currently first in the Metropolitan division and the aging roster have not missed a step this season.
The issue they are currently having though is cap space. The Penguins have $87,910 in cap space and with a few injuries to forwards, they might need to make an unusual move tonight:
The Penguins have no cap space for call ups unless someone goes on LTIR.

If nobody is out long-term but Guentzel/Blueger don't play then we're probably discussing which of the 7 D gets moved up to forward for next game.

The Penguins play tonight in Columbus and as of right now Teddy Blueger is still considered day-to-day and Jake Guentzel status has not been revealed yet after he received a huge hit from Brendan Lemieux in his last game.
