This afternoon during the New York Islanders and Tampa Bay Lightning game on the TNT broadcast, Paul Bissonnette decided to take a shot at the Washington Capitals saying they probably wont even get past the first round of the playoffs.

The panel was talking about how many of the teams in the Eastern conference were threats for the Stanley Cup and Bissonnette does not believe the Capitals are capable of it.
Listen, Washington fans have been losing it on me online. Go bet your mortgages on the fact that they'll even get out of the first round and send it to me in a tweet, and then we'll have a conversation. Washington is not a threat. Sorry. All other seven teams are."

The Capitals hold a 37-20-10 record good for 10th in the league, and have had one of the most injury plagued seasons of all NHL teams. The Capitals have played in 67 games so far this season, these are how many games each player in their top ranks have missed:
Backstrom - 33 games
Oshie - 38 games
Mantha - 45 games
Eller - 10 games
Sheary - 10 games
And a handful of players who have missed 3-7 games. Not a single Capitals player this season has played in all 67 games. So to have a team so plagued with injury and still have a winning record and be holding a playoff spot, how can you question if they are contenders? The team has not been healthy to prove what they can really do and they've still beaten the majority of team's they've played against.
