Paul Maurice Comes Up With an Iconic Response Regarding Alex Barkov's Injury
In yesterday's game, the Panthers came in hot and won their third game in a row against the Hurricanes.
That makes it 10 consecutive wins for Florida, who have been unstoppable since facing elimination by the Boston Bruins.
However, they suffered an important loss in the win.
Captain Alexander Barkov left the game late in the first period after a seemingly harmless hit.
Paul Maurice Comes Up With an Iconic Response Regarding Barkov's Injury
During the post-game comments, head coach Paul Maurice responded to reporters in the best way possible.
Paul Maurice's update on Aleksander Barkov: "He's at a Bar Mitzvah. Yeah, that's what we'll go with. Bar Mitzvah, and he didn't want to disappoint the kids."
Upper or lower?
"The Bar Mitzvah? It was on two floors, both floors. It was a big one. Lots of kids." On a more serious note, there's no real news on Barkov's health, but some updates are expected later after the team's practice.
If Barkov were to miss games, it would be catastrophic for the Panthers. Their 3-0 lead gives them a solid advantage, but they clearly want to get this round behind them as soon as possible. It will be significantly harder without their captain. They'll have to rely on their deep roster if they hope to sweep the Canes.
Nothing's confirmed yet, and we'll keep you in the loop when new information is released.
