Peel Mocks Leafs Fans After the Hit on Matthew Knies
Fans were riled up after Bennett's hit, as it definitely seemed needlessly violent. After pinning Knies to the boards, he slammed his head directly into the ice.
One would expect referees to at least stay neutral when talking about something like this, but for Tim Peel, who has quite the following on social media, he opted to bash the Maple Leafs and their fans.
I just think if the jerseys were reversed, this wouldn't be garnering any attention
These are pretty bold words from Peel, as this hit was clearly a bit much.
It now lies in the hands of the NHL Department of Player Safety.
