Last night the Minnesota Wild and Dallas Stars played game one of their best of seven series, which finished as a 3-2 Wild win in double-overtime.
While people should be talking about the game today, that's not what is getting all the headlines.
What is getting all the headlines is Matt Dumba's late hit on Joe Pavelski which left him injured.
If you missed it, see below:
This hit by M. Dumba on J. Pavelski went from no call, to major, to a minor after huddles and reviews. One of the worst parts of the playoffs is the fear of making a call too consequential to the game.
Pavelski seems to have the worst luck in the playoffs, if you remember just a few short years ago when he was a member of the Sharks, he was a victim of a hit off the faceoff which turned out to be not dirty at all, but it gave the Sharks a 5 minute powerplay which resulted in a comeback victory for the Sharks and winning the series.
