It's been a very frustrating season for the Vegas Golden Knights, after making it so close to the Stanley cup finals, losing in 6 games to the Montreal Canadiens last season, the Golden Knights could possibly miss the Stanley cup playoffs for the first time in their franchise history.
Which was a huge surprise after all the talk after the Golden Knights thought they hit the jackpot acquiring the Buffalo Sabres captain Jack Eichel back in November. Unfortunately Jack Eichel hasn't been the game breaker hockey insiders believed Eichel was going to be so far. The Golden Knights have been dealing major salary cap issues trying to bring Captain Mark Stone which hasn't helped matters either.
After they finally got Stone back they haven't improved much and it's starting to take a toll on the players. Case in point last night with the Golden Knights hosting a non playoff team in the New Jersey Devils and a game the a Golden Knights needed to win. Unfortunately, New Jersey Devils goaltender Andrew Hammond stood on his head making 42 saves, leading the Devils to a huge win and causing frustrations to boil over. Knights captain, Mark Stone decided to smash his stick at the end of the game.
