Tonight the Washington Capitals are hosting the Winnipeg Jets in their final games before the Christmas break.
The Jets have been getting frustrated in the game as they are throwing everything they can at the net but they cannot buy a goal due to some big saves by Charlie Lindgren.
On this play, Mark Scheifele is racing with the Washington Capitals player to beat out an icing, and Scheifele definitely won the race, but they still called it an icing. Scheifele was upset with the call and went to just shoot the puck back to his zone and shot it hard directly at the referee, who called him for a penalty.
Mark Scheifele slaps the puck in frustration after a close icing call went Washington's way... and receives a two-minute unsportsmanlike penalty in the process
