The Chicago Blackhawks are entering what their new GM, Kyle Davidson, called closer to a "full rebuild". The team isn't going to be making the playoffs and is expected to be one of the big sellers at the deadline. But just because the team is looking to sell doesn't mean that every piece is going to be on the move this year.
Marc-Andre Fleury is a 37-year-old pending free agent and he holds control for where he goes next with a 10-team no trade list. But that no trade list is just a formality, as Fleury has the choice whether to report to a new team or not. One thing Kyle Davidson shared is that he plans to keep his veteran players in the loop where possible, which means he has every intention to do right by his goaltender.
In the past months Fleury has been linked to Toronto, Edmonton, Washington, Pittsburgh, Colorado and Washington in some capacity. It will be interesting to see if this is true or just Chicago's way to try and control the narrative and maximize the return for Fleury.
