Washington Capitals star Tom Wilson delivered a hit last night to a falling Cam Atkinson, which resulted in a 2-minute boarding penalty for Wilson.
Flyers Cam Atkinson left the game after this and was later diagnosed with a lower body injury and did not return to the game.
It will be interesting to see how the league views this hit as you can see Wilson was in motion to deliver a hit and the last second Atkinson turns and falls as Wilson is already following through with the hit. If you watch closely it looks as though Wilson tries to adjust his body to avoid any head contact and even after the hit was delivered you can see Wilson making sure Atkinson is okay.
