Today marked a huge day for both the Vegas Golden Knights and Jack Eichel. After being acquired by the Knights' Jack Eichel underwent artificial disc replacement surgery, in November, at the Rocky Mountain Spine Clinic.
Eichel has slowly been working his way back to the team, but today Eichel took a huge step to his return to the NHL by taking part in his first practice wearing a contact jersey.
While not playing in the top 12, Eichel centered a line between Nolan Patrick and Mike Amadio as he works his way back to the NHL.
This marks a huge step forward for Eichel who hopes to get back into the NHL before the trade deadline. This news could also have a large ripple effect on the Vegas Knights' trade deadline plans as they'll likely have to clear cap space to accommodate Eichel's cap hit.
